Teradol (sp?)

Hi everyone... I went to the Dr. this morning to see if i had a bladder infection or UTI. I don't!!
But he did say I'm dehydrated and that is making everything worse.. he also said the pain meds were causing the constipation leading to the horrible pains so he told me to stop taking the narcotics and motrin, and gave me a shot of toredol instead. by the way- OUCH.
So I went home and although i still felt a bit of pain, i was clear headed- which was refreshing!
Then I started to feel worse. super tired but unable to shut down, kind of groggy feverish and my back started hurting eeven more than usual. I had gone to the pool house earlier to get some quiet and all of a sudden i didn't want to be alone!!
i came inside and fell asleep for a few hours. woke up groggy, SOAKING WET, with a fever of 100.9 and achey. so achey. EVERYTHING hurt. even the sheets, which are wonderfullly soft, felt like nails. you know the feeling? Obviously not the way i should feel.
So paranoid me calls the Dr after hours. I was afraid i was having an allergic reaction or something!! After a few questions, doc deduces that I am NOT having an allergic reaction, but the reaction to having no pain meds when i obviously need them!! My nurse this morning, after she gave me the shot and again when i spoke with her once home, she told me not to take anything until tomorrow, that the shot would last all day and night. the doc tonight said the shot lasts around 6 hours, and to take 2 right then and follow with percocet for lingering pain.
I didn't follow advice, I took a percocet and I'll take the toredol tomorrow instead. just to be on the safe side. Anyone else taking this stuff? And WHY???
I'm still feeling hot and sweaty- normal hormonal thing?
Sorry to run on and on... thank you for reading.
and any advice would be so wonderful!!! DH is so busy with the kids and I am SO BORED!! haha

Teradol (sp?) - and the drama continues...

I was on something that sounded like toridol when I was in the hospital. I was so tired but my eyes wouldnt shut. I got nauseous, kinda lightheaded and started sweating like a sow. A really young nurse told me I was having a hot flash. I thought oh lord no! Ive heard they were bad, but I cant do this. The next nurse was an elderly lady. I ask her if I was having a neverending hot flash. She said "Oh my Gosh" honey no, I think its the drug, we will get that changed. All was well. When the hot flashes did come , I was relieved. I had brought the puke pan home from the hospital for nothing. If you dont think you feel right call the dr. or talk to their nurse. Feel better soon!

and the drama continues...

Hi everyone! So I spent yesterday and most of today literally moaning and groaning and writhing in pain in between naps from sheer exhaustion and of courase- all the while drenched in sweat and shivering. Wacko
I knew something wasn't right- and last night after the whole toredol fiasco i REALLY knew something wasn't right, so i stuck it out through the night and called the Dr.s office this morning and spoke with the worlds best nurse- LOVE this woman!! Anyway- i told her I wouldn't take the toredol anymore and she suggested trying the motrin only. HUH? I am supposed to get through the day on 800mg MOTRIN? Ineed morphine!!!
So she said to take a mtrin at 10, give her a call at 2 if I really couldn't stand it, otherwise take another at 4.
I was in rough shape.. really rough. Fever, sweating, pains, coulnd't pee, couldn't poop, ears ringing, CRYING. oh yes, crying so hard!!!And shaking- it was a sight!!
I actually fell asleep from the drama of it all and when i woke up i decided i couldn't wait to call. So I called at around 1:15 instead. She told me to go take a percocet and she'd call my Dr. He was in a meeting at the hospital so it would be a while, but sit tight.
So I did. I am so relieved!!! He thinks I have an inection in the vaginal cuff- whatever that means- and is phoning in antibiotics and vicodin. Hallelulia!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Souns weird, but i am so relieved to know that there is an end in sight here!! I KNEW this pain wasn't right, couldn't possibly be normal. I knew my threshold for pain couldn't be THAT low!! haha. YAY!
So DH is going to pick up the scripts and I'll be on the mend. Today and tomorrow are going to be crappy, I'm sure. But i got through yesterday and this morning allrigt.
Anyone elsehave this infection?
And also- I don't think i am eating the right things.... Besides fruit, what else is good to eat? I've been eating my comfort foods like mac n cheese, mashed potatoes, etc. Can't be good for the system!!

Teradol (sp?) - and the drama continues...

Am sitting here wondering about the "cuff" thing. I bent over maybe once too many times today- and feel like i am having cramps. Camped myself in bed for the evening.

did you have any spotting?

You poor baby! I haven't had an infection at the vag. cuff but I'm sure it could be uncomfortable! Hang in there - take those perc's and vicodin's as you need them and relax. Once those antibiotics kick in, I'm sure you'll start feeling better. It's great that you know your body and know when something isn't right. As far as food goes -- veggies, proteins, good fats are all great choices. Hang in there and feel better....

I am not spotting at all, actually. It's so weird, apart from some light bleeding at the hospital, I only had light spotting for a few days (maybe more- it doesn't feel as though almost 2 weeks have past!ah-drugs)
I expected heavy bleeding, but I guess I have been pretty lucky with that.
I took 2 vicodin and the pain has really receeded. Really looking forward to when the antibiotics kick in!!
I have been bending over quite a bit- i didn't know that was a no-no. Uh oh. maybe that hs made the pain worse, too? I can't get it right! I'm messing up this recovery thing left and right! Not drinking enough, not eating right, bending over, etc....
Well I am on the right track now!!!!

Between days 6 and 21, I could tell when it was 4:30 as I had a hot flash. Then I would be kind of floopy for the evening. It passed about the 3rd week.

Torodol stings but I remember it being better than the narc push I was on.

I hope over the next couple days you start feeling better.

After a kind of rough night and rough morning, I'm feeling soooooooooooo much better!! I am nauseous as can be, though. Kind of hungry, so i ate some crackers, but still feeling hungry and nauseous- which i have not experienced before at the same time. REALLY tired, but the gas pains haven't been too bad and the pain isn't excruciating but managable!! All in all- a fantastic day!! The bes yet!!!WAHOOOOOOOOOOOO
