2hours post-op

Surgery took longer than expected. I don't know the exact details, hubby didn't think to ask for th deals as to why , neither did my emt friend. Ugh. There was a cyst on one of my ovaries. Tempted to send my hubby an friend home. Feeling tired, sore throat, and intense pain in lower pelvic area. Morphine doesn't make it go away. If the next pump doesn't do it I gotta say something.

Re: 2hours post-op

Wow, I am totally surprised that you are lucid enough to be posting so soon! Please let the nurses know right away that your pain is not being controlled. You will heal better if your pain is being better controlled. My doctor and the pre-op nurse told me to never let the pain get above a 5 out of 10 as it is really hard to get on top of it if it goes beyond that. Maybe a different med is needed. Please keep us up to date on how you are doing!

Re: 2hours post-op

Nurse gave me some Tylenol through IV. I'll get toradol at midnight then ofirmeve at 2 am. Pain is getting better. Was able to get up and go to the bathroom. Hoping I can eat but they told hubby probably not till morning. I've already drank a 32oz sprite and water. Gonna get some rest.

You're already getting up to go to the bathroom? So they took out the catheter? Wow, that's great. I had mine through the next morning. I hope your pain gets better soon!

Re: 2hours post-op

I asked if they could take it out. Nurse checked the orders and sure enough I got it out. Still shaky from. My breathing treatment. The nurse helped me to the bathroom, and best friend helped me while in there. I even had to turn On my side and cough, it wasn't terrible. Woohoo. Petty sure my starlite pillow pet along with the binder helped.
