DvSH When is next appt?!

I had my two week post op appt. on Tuesday for my 3/22 supracervical davicini hysterectomy. Cervix and ovaries were left intact, only taking my uterus. I completely forgot to ask when my next appt. will be and she made no mention of it. Since I have my cervix I know I still have to have paps, but does that mean I don't go back for a year? Obviously, I called and left a message for the nurse, but I'm curious... What are your docs doing?

i was to go back after 6 weeks. same surgery but different doctors do different things. i had same surgery and everything.

Most docs seem to want a 4 week or 6 week follow up but that's not consistant. My 2 week was my only follow up (a fact that I'm not totally comfortable with).
Best to call the clinic and say "Hey, forgot to ask when to be back for my next follow up".

I had a dvh on 3-21 and saw mine 1 wk for staple removal then the following for 2 wk post op( no internal) then I go next week for 4 wk post op( internal)... Then I think at 6 wk and 8 wk as well.... Call your dr for a post op visit... Take care

Well. Nurse called back and said one year! Geez.

I had my 2 week appointment yesterday, he did an internal to check my cuff (cervix was removed, too) and it looks great. He doesn't want to see me for a year. He actually said I can continue my gyn care with my primary dr. if I'd like. But I went ahead and made an appointment for a year with him, and got the referral for my mammogram. He said yearly for ovary and breast check, and every 5 or so for vaginal check since I no longer need paps.

I'm glad to hear you're recovery has been as great as mine!
