Re: pre-op enema

I am not a doctor, I'd have to say you probably need to call your doc to know for sure.

But my opinion is (depending upon what and when you ate last, whether or not you took laxatives prior), you could probably do another enema if you are concerned that you are not clean. But again, if you're concerned, call your doc or at least the hospital to talk to a nurse. You'd be disappointed to not have a sufficient prep. Good luck.

Re: pre-op enema

Hi cathy! What were your doctor's exact bowel prep instructions? It is important to stick to those instructions. If you aren't able to talk with your doctor tonight you can likely get some good advice from the hospital as well.

Bowel prep is not fun but hang in there, you'll get through it! Know that you are doing something important towards a successful surgery and recovery!

Wishing you the very best and we'll be looking for you in the Post Op forum!

Re: pre-op enema

My prep was a eat normal up to midnight. Fleet enema 2 hours before bed. I did manage to use the rest of the enema. I guess I was used to the colonscopy prep. I'm sure I'm fine now. Thanks for your comments. Getting some sleep now for my big day tomorrow.
