Scar itches still after 9 months

I had the ab hyster. The doc went in my pub hair area upon my request. I was thinking it would hide the scar more. lol

Anyway of course the pubs have grown back now after 9 months so it's not itching because they are growing in.

I just think it's strange that after all this time I have to scratch down there around the scar. And no I don't have crabs. :-)

Anyone else have itching around the scar still? I imagine most of you in here are newly post-op so wouldn't know, but I didn't know where else to post. Please move if this is the wrong forum. Thanks!!

I had my surgery September 2006 and still get the itch now and again. I think it's natural no matter what kind of surgery a person has, especially with bigger scars.

mine is still itchy also,not all the time but when its strikes it feels like mosquitos biting,,and no i dont have crabs either,lol,it is also still numb over top my scar about 2 inches all the way across,fells wierd when i touch it but im used to it now,,take care

I'm nearly 6 months out and my scar itches every now and again. Itchy is the only word I can think of to describe it, although it's not quite the same as itching anywhere else.

Recently though, it started itching really, really badly which didn't feel right and had me feeling worried - turned out I had a mosquito bite right next to it...inconsiderate little so and so!

Thanks everyone. It's good to know it's just normal. I thought maybe they left something inside me perhaps and I was allergic to it or something. My mind was going all kind of crazy places. :-)

It must be a girl thing! I too had my mind going into those crazy places as well. The craziest thing crossed my mind. I thought about stictches working out of me or like you said something was left in there. I told my doctor this and she said, "You watch too many of those shows that have been on TV!" And you know she was right I do watch those shows... Makes a person wonder. Oh well at least we aren't itching and scratching alone....LOL
