spotting a little at incision site 4 days post hysterectomy

I'm only 4 days post op and today when getting ready to waddle into the shower I saw a little bit of dried blood on my underwear. I patted the incision and sure enough it was spotting a little. I wouldn't say it was a bright read or anything. There is no swelling and very little bruising. After the shower I fanned the incision dry and since then there has been no more spotting. I did try to call the doctor on call but no one has called me back. Is this sort of spotting normal? I am thinking the underwear rubbed and irritated the incision and now I am making sure it's not.

Try to call your doctor tomorrow. It sounds like it's ok. Do you have a fever? Is the incision red and/ or hot? Is it oozing? The later questions are about infection and information will want to give your doctor.

Yes, be sure nothing is irritating the incision. I wore big clothes for a while after surgery.
