Loss of blood

I had another surgery yesterday and apparently lost a lot of blood during it. They debated sending me home, but eventually did last night after doing a blood count or something. I guess it was low, but not too low. Anyway, one incision is bleeding fairly bad and I just feel kind of crappy. I called my doctor and he wants to see me at 1:00 tomorrow and to go to the ER if the bleeding got any heavier or I developed a fever, etc. I was just wondering if anybody knew if there might be something I could drink or eat that would help "replenish" some of the blood I lost?? Or if it just takes time....I don't know - I just thought maybe someone might have some experience with this.

Regarding the surgery...it's been 3 months since I had my hyst. due to severe endo, adhesions, etc. I had 3 spots on my bowel that he removed and sent to the lab. He thinks it might be new endo! I knew going into the hyst. that it wouldn't necessarily be a "cure" for endo, but I definitely didn't think I'd be back in the operating room only 3 months later with new endo. I also had a lot of adhesions - mainly one very large one. I did see the pictures from the surgery and from having 10 previous surgeries for endo, that's what it looks like again to me. Ugh...

Well, thanks in advance for any advice or suggestions!

Loss of blood

I got this from a site not sure if it will help or not but it can't hurt

Some remedies for replenish blood loss:-

* Consume foods that are rich in iron and folic acid. Foods like green leafy vegetables, liver, whole grains, pulses or foods fortified with iron like wheat or breakfast cereals can improve the hemoglobin content of the blood and can enhance the functions of hemoglobin. Stress on Vitamin C rich foods as it can enhance the absorption of iron in the body. Have citrus fruits, guava that is rich in Vitamin C. These foods are useful for those having heavy menstruation and suffering from anemia.
* Vitamin E as an antioxidant helps in reducing the oxidation of red cells. Consume more of vegetable oils rather than animal fats.
* Protein helps in improving the protein structure of hemoglobin. Hence have sprouts, pulses that are rich in protein.
* Wheat grass and spirulina contain chlorophyll that can retain the red blood cells and thus improve the hemoglobin content in the body.
* Blood donors can have coconut water which can be used as replenishment for blood loss.

my prayers are with you for a speedy recovery from this.
HUGS
