How is everyone doing today?

I wanted to compare notes with the other sisters about how everyone is feeling. I am feeling better every day, but am finding I need to take pain meds every 4 to 6 hours. I have a bladder infection, and it's getting better. I still have awful bladder spasms daily, but they are lessening too. I feel really good for a few hours, and then find I need to rest. (let's not talk about the hemmorhoid!!!!).
How about everyone else?

How is everyone doing today?

I had my lavh on thursday and after finally having a bm today (after 3 doses of milk of magnesia) I can finally stand straight up!! I only took 1 percocet this morning, and this afternoon I took some ibuprofen. I've been walking around all day, and I'm sitting at the computer and I feel fine! It doesn't hurt when I cough anymore!! I have bladder issues also. The supersonic antibiotic doc has me on makes me a little loopy though. 80 something dollars for 7 pills!!!!!! I have insurance, so it only cost me 25, but come on, how are people supposed to pay for this stuff!!!! In general I feel great, thought I would feel worse, but it's just the begining, so we'll see how it plays out!! Everyone heals differently, so it's hard to compare, I think. Heres to a speedy, comfortable recovery for all of us!!!!

How is everyone doing today?

I'm doing ok since I stopped moving so much. I still have my cervix and was bleeding. I must've been moving too much, as I decreased movement there was less bleeding. Hardly nothing now. My incision is healing nicely. My surgeon really did a straight vertical cut. After the staple part heals it will look like nothing. I'm sitting up for longer periods of time too before my back starts to ache and I have to lay down. I did have a problem last night with gas. This was disappointing cause I started to get over the horrid feeling of holding onto something for dear life until the pain passed. After nursing my tummy and back with a heating pad, 2tabs of gas-x and a 600mg motrin, it eventually eased up. That's one instance in a week of otherwise feeling good. Takes a post like this to make us take stock of the good and the bad.

How is everyone doing today?

I am feeling somewhat ok since my TAH onthe 18th. I still have pain when moving. I cannot stand up to long or I get hot flashes. I also notice my bowels are a mess and not moving without Senekot and Dulcolax which then give me killer pain. I still need pain meds about every 5 hours. So that has not changed much, I cannot take Ibuprofen.
I tend to lay in bed more lately b/c I think I am afraid I will over do it and set myself back.

Good luck
Trina
