straining to have BM?

is it okay to strain a little to have a BM? i am taking stool softeners and milk of magnesia... but unlike when i had my bladder surgery two years ago.. i can't just sit and breathe deeply and let the poop come on its own....

i am definitely not straining hard.. it causes some discomfort in my vagina but not pain....

is this okay or should i just load up on the milk of magnesia?

You really shouldn't be straining at all, it will come out when it is ready!

Just keep walking, eat little and often including some fibre, drink as much as you can & the stool softeners & MofM will help.
