Rectal Pressure And Pain

i am 3 weeks s/p TAH. I recently began having alot of severe rectal pressure and pain. When in a sitting position the pain brings me to tears and also causes my mid back to hurt like crazy. I have no constipation
problems but when I want to pass gas or have a bm the pain is so severe, Also when I urinate my abdomen has intense pressure until I am done. I have not seen a dr about this yet, has anyone expierenced this and is there a solution or reason for this happening. How long does this last?HELP!!!

Rectal Pressure And Pain

Hi Annette,

I am 6 weeks post op. I don't get all the abbreviations but I had a bikini cut that resulted in the removal of my uterus & cervix (kept ovaries). The first 3 weeks, I has severe pain in both my back and what seemed like down my incision in front when I would have gas or a BM. I was on iron that caused constipation for anemia so I chalked it up to that. However, about week 4 that all went away. I never did have pressure or trouble with my bladder except needed to go to the restroom a lot till much of the swelling from surgery went down. I would definately call my Dr. on Monday and see if this is normal for the type of surgery that you have.

Rectal Pressure And Pain

Sounds very much like the gas pains I had for some time post op. I found walking through it helped and made things move.

Whatever surgery you have everything in your pelvic cavity has been moved around and it is complaining about it. It will all settle down but it takes time. Just walk as much as you can, eat little and often and keep drinking fluids.
