How insensitive......can't believe it!

My husband just asked me if I can put foot cream on his feet!!! Are you kidding me!!??

Uh, NO, but I can tell you where to put it!

Last I heard it's called a Hysterectomy, NOT a Hysterecto-You

Get a clue!!!

Re: How insensitive......can't believe it!

See I see this differently... I'm sure he's had added responsibilities since your surgery.. If he *asked* you to put a little cream on his feet, he was asking something of you to help him. I don't think he was asking to put you out.

Re: How insensitive......can't believe it!

I'm guessing he doesn't get it and this isn't the first thing. My DH has also been insensitive. It is beyond disappointing. Sending you a big hug. And hope that friends and family help in your recovery.

Re: How insensitive......can't believe it!

On the surface, I don't see anything wrong with his request, but I guess it depends on what is going on behind the scenes. If he hasn't been willing to help you at all, then I understand why you feel that way. If he has been fairly helpful and supportive then I dont think the request is insensitive. If his feet were where I could reach them, there would be no reason why I wouldn't/couldn't have done that for my husband during my recovery. If he was asking you to have sex, knowing that you can't, I would find that insensitive.

That's beautiful! That should be on a T-shirt and handed out to all women in the recovery room after their surgery!

Re: How insensitive......can't believe it!

Incredulous at all the excuses being made for him here. When you're 5 days out from surgery, not to mention major surgery, nobody with any kind of empathy would be asking you to put foot cream on them. Unbelievable.

Re: How insensitive......can't believe it!

Everybody take a deep breath. Without knowing more, a simple request to just rub on a little lotion doesn't seem outrageous to me. If there's more, then perhaps it is. At 2 days post-op my mom asked me to paint her fingernails. I doubt she even needed them to be painted, but I think she asked just to give me something creative to do and to keep my mind off myself. I didn't find that insensitive at all. But as I said, perhaps there's more to it than a simple request.

Re: How insensitive......can't believe it!

Wow. I'd do anything for my husband. Including rubbing his feet. Even the night of surgery. Cause I love him and he bends over backwards for me all the time. Maybe the hormones or something are raging for you. Try to go easy on the guy!

How insensitive......can't believe it!

Thanks for all the support ladies. Please allow me to clarify some things.

My husband had 2 toenails removed on the 5th. Every night I would put the special cream on there to help aid the healing process. I did this until I went into surgery. I have no problem doing anything for him and the guy has been really helpful to me during my recovery. I just thought it's in poor taste to ask me right now. And if you're wondering if I put the cream on there...No, I did not!

My doctor said I am the one who should be pampered, not you. I do plenty for my husband, not doing it now. Thanks for listening ladies. ♡

Re: How insensitive......can't believe it!

You know, there's this thing called a "knee" that allows humans to bend their legs and bring their feet close enough to their hands that they can do things like cut their own toenails, treat their own blisters, apply their own cream, etc.

Just saying.
