help with my symptoms

can anyone help with a cause for my symptoms or have you experienced anything similar ? I had a vaginal hysterectomy and anterior and posterior repairs just over 5 weeks ago, last week I was being driven mad by terrible burning and itching around and in my vagina,so I went to my GP,when she examined me,her words were,it,s like a piece of raw meat down here and I can feel the burning from here, she took swabs for analysis and prescribed antibiotics with anti fungal cream and pessary. My symptoms have improved a little but not gone,I have phoned the surgery today for my results and been told the swabs showed nothing at all. When I asked what could be causing my symptoms the Dr said maybe the antibiotics are treating something the swabs didn't pick up,or maybe it's because I'm menopausal ? and if I still have symptoms in a week to go back.
