Do you ride horseback? (if you do, I have a question)

Do y'all roundpen when it's been a while? I know that can be so overdone- and I do it with mine even though he knows, I'm not always as firm as I should be...so it's ME who still needs to do it, although now we're finally to the point where I point and kiss and he goes, rather than chasing him all over the pen like it was at first..lol

No, he's not very spooky- usually he'll startle in place or take a half step. I adopted a very UN-hot OTTB! (or wouldn't have done it at all). He's just green, as am I. But after 60 days with a trainer this summer, he's a lot less green. Me, not so much, as I was working out of town and didn't get lessons when I planned to- and Babe came home with a cut on one leg, so we didn't ride for a while.
He is, as the lady I adopted him from put it, a couch potato.

responsive and sweet, and quick, too, but not hotheaded.

I don't have an answer. I've only ever ridden QH, but have always adored TBs..lol

there are guys out re-siding the barn. I let Babe loose the other day to graze in the yard. Normally, I'll put a halter on him and he just moseys..but that day, I didn't put one on him and he walked like he knew exactly where he wanted to go.

He marched right over to where all the construction was taking place- guys were on break or I wouldn't have done this- and stepped in and around and over materials, as though he just couldn't wait to see what all the noise and fuss has been about..haha!

of course, then he'll squeal and hop at air, but not hasn't while I'm on him. That said, we haven't been out of the yard yet, with me on him, unless it was an arena.

He gave his approval and then walked over to my truck to wait for cookies to magically appear.
