Tomorrow's the big day! 5/2

Hi everyone,

Just posting to an audience who understands (most people in my circle are caring and supportive, but don't really get the gravity of the situation).

One on hand, I can't wait. I can't wait for the pregnant belly to go away, for the heavy periods to stop, and for my energy to come back. I feel like my eyes are in a constant state of half-open, the brain fog is for real, and my muscles are so sore... most of this I'm attributing to stress leading up to the big day. I'm tired of worrying about this, ready to be the new me.

On the other hand, the butterflies are fluttering in my stomach today and I've needed to take a lot of deep breaths to stay calm. I've prepared (maybe even more than I needed to) so I'm taking the route of straight denial as much as I can. As long as I don't think about it and I'm distracted, I'm good to go (except those pesky butterflies). The minute someone mentions it, I dissolve into tears.

I'm nervous about the IV more than anything else. Which seems silly in the grand scheme of things, but it's funny how our minds can fixate on the smallest of details that way. I'm also worried about the medication, I avoid taking stuff in general as much as I can. What if I have a reaction that no one saw coming?

Anywho, my Mom will be here tonight to stay the week and I'm letting my 15 year old skip school tomorrow and come with us to the hospital. I'm making some yummy mushroom broth at the moment (nearly a vegetarian over here!), and about to go out shopping to buy myself something "feel good". Maybe a new fluffy robe, and some cute summer sandals.

I'm also focusing on the example I'm setting for my son. He's watching me have the strength to keep up with this, and make good decisions regarding my health. Here's to one foot in front of the other, and being brave!

Way to go Noble365! I would say you are definitely in the right frame of mind today! I'm not sure you can be over prepared...I love that I still have a few casseroles in my freezer and that my pantry was well stocked!

Continue to be good to yourself, and just keep taking those deep breaths when you need to. Tomorrow will be here before you know it...you'll barely blink, and then it's over!

Best wishes for a smooth surgery day and an uneventful recovery! Just remember your new motto is simply one day at a time, sister! Hang in there and good luck!!

Thank you! I got my time today, and have to be at the hospital at 5:45am. So early!! But I'm glad it's early, it will relieve any nervousness that I would have had sitting around my house in the morning, waiting to go to the hospital.
Praying and have faith in my surgical care team!
