Night sweats
I had my surgery on Feb. 7th and for the last couple of weeks I have been having night sweats. I did not have my ovaries removed so this is very unexpected for me. Is anyone else expereincing this and if so what have you done?

Night sweats
I have the same problem. At my 2 wk check I asked my doc about it and he said that it was normal. He said that the ovaries may go into shock for a while, and also the body produced hormones (not only female) to help the body heal, and this is what is causing the nightsweats. He did say to monitor it and if it is still a problem at 6 wks then we will talk about it then. Hoping my ovaries will kick back in to normal soon. The nightsweats have ease a little, but I am still having a problem with being cold all day long. Best of luck.

me too!
Mimi -
I had my LAVH the day before you and I am 42.... had been on continuous birth control pills prior to the surgery and stopped night before. Started having night sweats, anxiety, tearfulness and hot flashes about 8 or so days out and called the Dr's office. I was put on low-dose estrogen patch and had the dose increased last week and finally feel better and am sleeping better. My FSH was 21 so ???perimenopause or sleeping ovaries from the surgery. He is going to test me again in a month to see whether I need to continue with estrogen patch.

Night sweats
mimi1217, I'm almost 3 weeks post-op (LSH-kept ovaries & cervix) and I'm having night sweats too. Fortunately, they're not every night, but enough to be bothersome. I think this is normal as penguinlady stated, the ovaries can "go to sleep" or be in shock from the surgery. Everything seems to be slowly improving for me and I'm hoping that the night sweats will eventually go away too in time.

Have either of you discussed any type of hormone replacement? It sounds as if you are both missing some type of theraphy

Night sweats
Thanks to all who replied. It's great to know that I'm not going through this alone. I hope we are all feeling "better than" our old selves soon. Everyone told me that I would feel like a new woman after the surgery and I am still waiting on that day to come.

Night sweats
My ovaries were shut down 6 months before surgery so i was hoping that the hot flushes would stop after my op. Unfortunatly after 1 week i was having night and day sweats. Checked with my GP he thinks i may need HRT, meanwhile he suggested i try Black Cohosh, (until i see my consultant on 28th) Have to say i really think its working Had 2 flushes last night and 2 so far today. Maybe you could give it a try until your ovaries have recovered.
Best wishes Angela x
