The worst part of recovery

Hello everyone, I was just curious to know what everyone thinks is the worst part of the recovery process. I will be 3 weeks post-op tomorrow and I would have to say that the worst part for me was the gas and bowel pains. I actually went 10 days without having a bowel movement. I thought I was gonna die. I was even taking stool softeners and still nothing. Then one day I finally went and omg!!! I didn't think I would ever stop!!!! Passing gas was just as painful. Even now at almost 3 weeks post -op I still have pain as gas and well poop move through my bowels but it's not quite as bad as it was. Another thing that is bothering me is after I go number1 my Urethra aches. I've done a urinalysis and it came back ok. My doctor thinks it's from the catheter. But I wouldn't think it would still be an issue 3weeks later if it was that. Anyone else having this issue????

The worst part of recovery

I think it is the fatigue. I am tired all the time and have no good reason for it. I am at week six and just now starting to feel a little more energy.

The worst part of recovery

Being over 2 years out what sticks in my memory is the first few weeks of bms and extreme pain when urinating. It was because the outside of my bladder had adhesions and while it was full it felt great, but as it emptied and shrank it hurt like hell. Dr. said just think about when you skin your knee and then straighten and bend it - same thing. That took what felt like month to go away completely. Everything else I expected.

At 6 1/2 weeks - I think that the worst thing for me was lack of E N E R G Y. It is better now, but I go back to work next week and I honestly am not sure how I am going to feel.

Endo:
I have that deep aching after I urinate... I have been told that alot of that has to do with how much they handle, push, pull stuff out of the way when they are operating... I am at 4 wk point today and it is getting better slowly.

Mine is probably the problems sleeping. I've never had problems sleeping in my entire life and now I cannot sleep and I am exhausted.

The worst part of recovery

For me, the gas pain (which is MUCH better now), the pain that comes with the BM (still happens), the deep ache in my abdomen, and the burning sensation throughout my abdomen (which I guess is the nerves) ... those are the worst for me. ugh! Also, just the helpless feeling of not being able to drive and do things for myself. I'm JUST now starting to drive ONLY when necessary and I'm 3 weeks and 5 days post-op. I hate feeling so helpless. I'm still not ready to go to stores and shop and that sort of thing.

The worst part of recovery

Asking for help!!!! I have found out how much I really do not like to ask for help. There are things that I have been going without or not having stuff done at the house just because I am so over asking for help. I can not wait to go outside and weed my flower garden (I'm in South Florida) I can see it from all the main rooms in the house and it is driving me crazy. I had to have everything else done for me I just can't ask someone to go outside and enjoy my hobby for me, sounds crazy but I'm going to watch the weeds grow until I can pull them myself.
