When did you start driving after hysterectomy?

I also had my laparoscopic hysterectomy on 11/10. I started driving yesterday 11/15. I placed a small pillow under my butt for bumps. But I'm only driving 5 mins to pick my kids up from school and back home..I haven't been on any pain meds since I left the hostipal..

Re: When did you start driving after hysterectomy?

Initially my surgical oncologist said I could drive when I was no longer on narcotics then told me to wait two weeks after surgery. I drove 5 miles on my third post op day because I needed to get my car from my friends house (where I stayed after surgery) back to my house and I was off of narcotics and only using Ibuprofen. I haven't driven every day since my surgery but just when I have needed to run and errand and I have been just fine. Everyone is different so you will know when you are ready to drive better than anyone. I had the DaVinci TAH with BSO for Grade 1 Stage 1A endometrial adenocarcinoma. Best healing wishes to all!

Re: When did you start driving after hysterectomy?

My surgeon told me I was able to drive once I stopped taking the Percocet. I stopped taking it two days post surgery and off prescription Motrin four days post-op. I took my first drive to my mom's for Thanksgiving, then my second time driving was to my surgeon's office for my first post-op appointment yesterday. It felt really good!
