Groin Pain

I am 8 weeks post op TAH and I am having issues with groin pain on the right side. Mostly caused by movement, like getting in the car or rolling over in bed. I am thinking it is nerve or muscle related. It is a sharp jabbing pain that when I move to a better position it subsides. I first noticed it 4 weeks ago after walking up a flight of stairs. I think I may have re-injured it after washing my hubbys car on Saturday. Anyone else have similar stories to share? I use motrin for pain and ice it down for 20 minutes an hour to help......

PS the doctor tells me it may take weeks to improve....as if the last 8 weeks weren't enough!!!!!!!

Re: Groin Pain

Doc told me it's from muscles being cut and it's going to take months for them to completely heal. Also nerves that were damaged during surgery will also cause that sensation because they are healing them selves. It's absolutely normal to feel that, but if you are having pain accompanied by a fever then call your doctor immediately.

Re: Groin Pain

I had very wierd discomfort on my left side in the groin area for over a year. My dr said it's from the nerves and could take years to resolve. It has for the most part. Every now and then I feel some mild pain, but nothing horrific. If you are in severe pain you should call your dr.

Re: Groin Pain

I had groin pain before and after my surgery. My doc said some of it ((after the surgery was muscle and nerve related)), but i also have/had vericose like veins in my groin and lower abdomen. She called in Pelvic congestive syndrom. Ask your doc about it. It may be worth your time.
