Ready to back out?

Yup, I was seriously thinking that I should just cancel the surgery. I was having a good day, I had lost a few pounds at WW and I thought that if things were like this I could just forget about going for the surgery. Then my period came and now I feel like an old rag, no energy, weepy and just plain horrible and I realize that I can't do this three weeks out of each month. And even my 'good' week isn't like the 'good' weeks used to be.

DH is so eager to get his wife back and my great fear is that I won't be 'back' even after the surgery. I am sooooo scared! What if I still feel this awful after I go through all that is included with the surgery. HEEEELLLLLPPPPP!!!!

Ready to back out?

I felt the exact same but I felt more strongly about getting it over with and kept reminding myself of why I went to the DR in the first place.

I am 43 and I decided to keep my ovaries in order - hopefully - to go through menopause naturally. It was what my Gyn suggested as well. You just have to do your research and decide what you are comfy with. Time will tell if I made the right decision.

Ready to back out?

Hi LoneStar,

Keep the faith, and don't back out! You can be strong!! My surgery is only two days away and I get nervous, then I read all the post op messages and feel so much better. I keep focused on the "big" picture after everything is done. I will be a much happier person and pain free! I'll be thinking of you and say a prayer for you also to find the strength you need to get through this. Believe.......

Ready to back out?

It is normal to want to back out so please just be kind to yourself during this time.

Try to get all your questions answered in advance -- about your options, etc. I wanted to be sure that I exhausted all possibilities and for me, I did.

Still, I wondered later if I really needed to do it and then I realized Yes, I just could not continue the way I was going!

Hugs during this time and be sure to pamper yourself as a Lady In Waiting

Ready to back out?

I understand the 'backing out' feeling completely!! I am now two weeks post op, but the two weeks prior to surgery had a lot of mixed emotions for me. Just like most of you here, when I felt good, I thought, why am I doing this?? But when I would have pain, I would remember why.
I had second thoughts while we drove the 30 minutes to the hospital the morning of surgery. I told my hubby that I thought maybe I should forget about it....but thankfully he talked me back into it.
I am very happy that I went ahead with the surgery already, and its only been two weeks. I had never had surgery before either, and that was my biggest fear.
Good luck, and DON'T back out....you will be so glad you went through with it.
