Pain and weight

I am scheduled for a LAVH on April 4th. I have only spotting...not heavy periods....my pain is like constipation and bloating...my doctor said I have hyperplasia...the uterus lining keeps growing and growing....I have gained 18 pounds since May.....I guess my question is...Do you think my weight gain is because of this condition? I know I probably don't excerise like I should, but this seems like a lot of weight. Thanks for reading

Re: Pain and weight

Same here ladies. I suffer with severe constipation and bloating, uterus is extremely enlarged and my largest fibroid is the size of a 6 month fetus. So, after surgery, my weight should be waaaaaaaaay down. *crossing fingers and toes*

I am almost 4 weeks post op and am slowly recovering, but to respond to your problem with weight gain, I also had the same problem prior to surgery. I gained almost 20 lbs as well and from what other experiences I have heard of, it is quite common. I am still dealing with the extra weight from prior to surgery but with the swelly belly issue as well it's really easy to let it get you down... I am truly hoping that by staying as active as is reasonable in the healing process and resting like I am supposed to so that I heal well and have a healthy body in the end to tackle the weight in a reasonable and healthy way. I say work on taking the best care of you pre surgery, don't worry about the weight... take it one step at a time, there are MANY hurdles for you from now until then so do your best to take them one at a time and once you're recovery progresses to a point that YOU, not anyone else, are comfortable with then you can deal with the weight issue... that is, if it hasn't resolved itself on its own by then.... Best of Luck!!
