Upcoming hysterectomy 3/27: just need to vent!!!
I just need to vent! The last two weeks have been so overwhelming and so much has been going on. I was diagnosed with ITP 6 months ago and I knew before surgery I would have to deal with it. The prednisone did not work, nor did the IVIG. 😡That with the hardest part so far. I now feel so frustrated, overwhelmed, and defeated. 😦😭 My OBGYNs office was closed this week for spring break and my insurance doesn't have the pre authorization for surgery that's coming up on Friday. 😣 I am beyond livid. I'll be calling them Monday to make sure my pre-op appointment is scheduled for Tuesday and that surgery is still happening on Friday. I live in Texas and my mom is flying in from California on Wednesday night. 😄 I already have time taken off from work and everything else but it a go. Now if I can just feel better physically and emotionally, and get everything else set in motion, we'll be good to go. The IVIG took a lot out of me. I was not expecting that. For those that don't know ITP is low platelets pretty much and IVIG is plasma intravenously put in you to help build back up the platelets and it didn't work. Frustrating and expensive. 💸💸💸 Ugh. I really don't want to bleed out on the surgical table! I experienced headaches, jitteryness, lack of sleep, and so on. It took 2 days and 10 hours total of sitting there for this to happen. Exhausting, especially since I work 3:30-midnight and I had to be there first thing in the morning both days.
As you can see, I'm not worried or concerned about the actual surgery itself, it's everything leading up to and after! I have faith in my doctor and her team. It's what they do. I'm just freaking out that everything else is not falling into place. I have to have faith that it will all work out and it will be fine, but ugh. Thank goodness for my girlfriend, mom, roommates, and friends! And you all! And my Juice Plus+ team. They've all been wonderful. Less than a week to go!! I'm excited to get this over with!

Sounds frustrating! It also sounds like you have relief coming soon and support coming from your mother. Hang in there, take care of yourself and know that you will feel so very much better very soon!

Upcoming hysterectomy 3/27: just need to vent!!!
Thank you!
Update... all is well... deep breath! Surgery is on track for Friday, my mom flies in.tomorrow night, I did pre-op and pre-op blood today, and I'm just waiting to hear about the results from the latest shot for my ITP. And I learned today at my pre-op that my doc is planning on taking out my uterus, cervix, and was all for taking the fallopian tubes and ovaries. Um, no! I really don't feel like adding menopause to the mix quite yet at 36 years old... So much! And now to prep on Thurs. Bowel prep.. ugh... bought magnesium citrate, chicken broth, and white grape juice tonight. Tomorrow will be 2 smoothies, salad, and light snacks. Thursday will be smoothie in the morning, broth throughout the day, fish for dinner, then magnesium citrate after that. I have to work 3:30-7:30. Seriously considering not going in...
And I know I'm crazy, but I have a job interview on Tuesday, the 31st! I can do this, right?! 😆😧😝

Yes ma'am you can!!!!
I'm amazed at all the living support you've got in your corner. What more could a girl ask for?
I'll be praying for you during your surgery. I'll also be praying for the surgery team.
Good luck on your surgery, good luck with your interview. A new job for a new, healthier you sounds like a perfect combination!!!

Push the job interview back a week! Or two. You won't be out of hospital until Monday 3/30😜. At least a phone interview the next Friday!
