Any Bowlers Out here?

I am so ready to get back to my normal activities. It's just over 3 wks for me and I am quite bored at home. I have been walking and going out shopping, etc. Not picking anything up that is heavy (over 10 lbs).

I normally bowl in 2 leagues a week, so this has been very hard for me to not be there. In one league, I am the secretary and resumed my activities last week... but it was hard watching everyone while I did my secretarial duties.

On the 21st , I am supposed to be bowling in my 1st Women's Tournament after not having bowled in over 20 yrs. It will be just over 5 wks for me. I do see my dr for a follow up that week and will be seeing if he will be able to clear me for that tournament since I'll be going back to work the following week anyways... per my short term disability.

Are there any bowlers out here that have made it past their 6 wk checkup and have resumed their bowling? Looking for advice.
Thanks!

Any Bowlers Out here?

Helen, I was 8 weeks post op yesterday from a BSO, last night was my first night back since my surgery, with my dr's approval. It wasn't too bad, I took it very slow and easy. My stomach is very sore this morning. I bowl with a 12lb ball, it felt very heavy last night. I am sure as time goes on it will get better. I didn't realize how much I missed the visiting with my team mates. It was great to be back. Take it easy until you get back into the swing of things(no pun intended). I wish you the best of luck. Keep me posted on how you do in the tournament. Carol

I bowl, but gave up my spot this year. I had too much pain before the season started and would have missed over half the season anyway. There is no way I could bowl right now, but that's just me. I think you'll be sore regardless just because you haven't used those muscles in awhile! Good luck at your tourney!
