Kept ovaries... Hormone changes?

I have noticed a few odd things I thought would not happen to me because I kept my ovaries.

I've been brought to tears for no reason at all at the strangest times.
I've noticed my hair falling out more.
My feet are so dry it looks like I'm wearing alligator shoes.
My skin is so dry it's flaking off.

Now I don't attribute this to weather changes or whatnot these are things my body has never done.

Could my ovaries be in "shock" as I've read some women talk about or are they out of whack???????

Anyone else keep theirs and having issues?????

Re: Kept ovaries... Hormone changes?

It could take awhile for your body to adjust. I was told when I had my hyst. That my ovaries would go into "shock". I am 15 months post my LSH. I am still noticing fluctuations. I fight with PMDD (which didn't go away with my hyst.) so being emotional was nothing new for me. My suggestion would be to find something that makes you feel good about you.

Just a heads up; you may not have your uterus anymore but you will still go through monthly cycles. Just no periods. Hopefully you won't go through early menopause. I am 35 and menopausal. It's not fun.

*BEAR HUGS* Hang in there girl.. You are not alone!

Re: Kept ovaries... Hormone changes?

Hey there ladies!

Glad to know I'm not alone. Had my LAVH on 9/7/11. At first, I had breast tenderness but I attributed that to being from my normal cycle. Over the last day or so, I have noticed waves of warmth coming over me... Then chills. No fever etc. Really weird stuff. I am def hormonal. Hope my ovaries adjust soon. Anyone else experience this? Thanks!

Hey Sharyn, Yes and it doesn't end. Hang in there my syptoms have calmed down. Look out for those typical PMS cravings too. Those will probably be back too.
