Pelvic Pain & Bladder sling
I had my hysterectomy with bladder sling repair done on April 2. So it is 5 weeks since surgery. All along I have felt pain around my urethra, and it seems like it is sort of just slightly inside my vagina, on the left side. My urine stream is so different from what I had before surgery. Before surgery I had a wide stream and I could feel the urine coming out. Now the stream is about half what it used to be and I can't really feel it at all, like the nerves are dead. If I didnt hear the urine hitting the water in the toilet I would not know I was peeing, almost. My bladder was quite dropped - prolapsed, not all the way out, but bulging out about an inch or so. I just can not get off the norco, though I am only taking a half a 5mg pill once or twice a day along with motrine, about 4 or 5 a day. It hits me most in the evenings, and yesterday I did some squating to pull just a few weeds, ( I know, bad idea) and it was really killing me last night and today is better, but still bad.
Anyone out there have bladder sling repair done with hysterectomy? Did you have this too? I almost wonder if my Dr didn't get me suspended up too tight, or if I just need more time to heal. I am so sick of pain. It is wearing on me.
Sometimes I think I will never be rid of this pain, I will just feel like this for the rest of my life.

Hi Flamewoman,
Have you called your doctor? It could be you just need more time to heal but better to call than to let something go too long.

Re: Pelvic Pain & Bladder sling
I see my Dr for a 6 week check up on Friday this week. I just wondered if anyone else out there had similar experience. Last night was really bad for me, could not sleep for the pain.

There is a separate forum for pelvic floor and bladder isssues. You might get some more specific responses over there. https://www.hystersisters.com/vb2/forumdisplay.php?f=187

Re: Pelvic Pain & Bladder sling
First of all, NO SQUATTING AND PULLING WEEDS!!!
I had extensive surgery like you and I still have pain, especially in the evenings or after a busy day when I'm up and around. I cannot take Motrin because I'm having an unrelated surgery on Friday, so I also take 1/2 a Norco 1-2 times a day. I have had a couple of days where I didn't take anything, but then the pain comes back.
My surgery was 6 hours. It took 2 hours alone to get my uterus and cervix out. They gave me 9 weeks off of work for a reason and I'm trying to be very, very kind to myself.
Remember, different people heal differently and we all didn't have exactly the same surgeries. It's best not to compare ourselves too closely with others.
