Clots and weak ( don't read if easily grossed out :) )

I remember a few years ago [ok, maybe it was a decade ago] about using two big pads at night when I sleep. I love the night time ones that they have now. I make sure before going to bed that I adjust the pad to be back heavy [if you know what I mean.] I have used the towel before as well. I also try to sleep on my back all night. I would be afraid to sleep on my sides because it would be too messy. I slowly get up and quickly go to the bathroom squeezing by muscles really tight so nothing could come out. Carefully go potty without trying to make a mess. Those were the days, BUT not for long baby! Just about 2 weeks to go till my visit to the castle. I hate the weak feeling I use to get. I have worked really hard to get my energy back. I still can't give blood but I'm much healthier. I have given my kids the chewable vitamins every morning when my anemia was bad. They loved it. If I would forget to give it to them then they would remind me. I would also take my vitamins as well. Perfect way to remember. I also love cream of wheat. You can get that with extra iron in it. So I would eat that and Total cereal.

Here at HysterSister nothing is gross because we have all been there at one time or another. Not everyone can handle our topics of discussion outside of this website BUT the most important thing about this place is that YOU ARE NOT ALONE!

Done the clots the size of gerbils last year. Non stop for 5 hours. Fainted twice in the bathtub trying to change out of clothes and went the the ER for an emergency D&C. The doctor told me I would be fine and come in, in a few days. I knew I couldn't wait too long. If it gets to the point of no stopping I would go to the hospital to be on the safe side. I needed 4 units of blood after surgery to get me back together again. And was told by my "new" doc this year that if it ever happened again go straight to the hospital don't second guess it. There was nothing like waking up in a tub of blood and goo screaming. I never want that to happen again. When telling the story of how it started at work at 2pm and by at home I went through everything 2 times, passed out, went to the ER passed out in their bathroom, makes me scared again. That is why I hope all is well with you. Take care. My doc told me to get on the iron vitamins too. Just started up this year. If I knew that last year I would of started them sooner.

Wow girls! Thansk so much for all of your support. I feel much better today. I slept in for a while, it is 11:30 right now but I needed it.

I am not bleeding very bad anymore. Thank goodness it has slowed down! I have one more round of tests to do before I can get my date. He has to check my iron to see that I will be ok for the surgery. Then, thats it!

I really feel for all you ladies. it is not fun living this way. I usually wear super tampons and huge pads together. I have been doing that since high school. I thought it was crazy when some of my friends could wear a tampon alone. I had NO clue! I also used to wear 2 pads at once, side by side for bed. I almost always have a blood issue on the first few nights of my period. I don't bleed all month long like some of the women here. I think I would have already gotten this evil U out already if I had that!!

((hugs))

Marly,

Glad to hear things are better but hon call the doctor today and tell him/her what happend they may start some meds to help you feel better and improve the blood count so you can remove FLO.

I too thought the girls who had light periods where strange I should have figured out it wasn't normal by age 13....

Please let us know how you are and I hope you call the doctor it's just a call...
Hugs

I had about the same as you for going on 2 weeks until I got brave and called my Dr. I am having surgery on Apirl 30th and hope to put all this behind me and start feeling healthy again. I don't think iron is all that you need although it will help with the feeling tired all the time. I am 52 and I am sorry to see you are having so much trouble at your young age, but you really need to get help.
Please call your Dr. and get the right kind of help. I will say a healing prayer for you.
Let us know how you are and what you deceided.

HS has a phrase to describe what we have been going thru

Crime Scenes

It is criminal that we think this way of living is normal and we were not told earlier. It wasn not talked about 30-40 years ago.

I have a folded sheet for those nights since my first spot on the mattress many years ago.

Been anemic from heavy periods since I was 18 and HB was 9gm and so probably earlier too. On iron most of my life. I was a hematology tech so I could keep track of HB and Ferritin.

Ferritin is the new and best test for Fe anemia. Iron and Tibc's are passe.

I take my iron ASA vitamins and calcium when I go to bed so it does not interfer with my thyroid meds etc which I take in the morning. Lots of fruit and fibre.

Black Bm's and rough feeling(sandpaper) Bm's are normal with iron.

Can't wait til I wake up from my hyst. No more crime scenes jely in the panties, cramps, anemia, other assorted weird pains and hopefully a flatter tummy eventually.
