Going back to work soon (7 wks)

I'm not back at work because I have been home with my daughter for ten years and haven't had a full-time job since. I am a believer in asking for what you wish for and didn't want to go back to work for just any job, or for a job that would require me to start in a mostly-new profession or at a drastically lower salary than I once commanded. And then a friend sent me a job description...and long story short, I think this is the kind of job I would find satisfyingly challenging (despite some terribly dull subject matter!), and where they would value my skills. The gal I talked with was excited about meeting me and highly complimentary of my writing skills. There are more interview hurdles to clear, but it looks like if I want it the job is mine. A short commute and a good salary--just what I had hoped for. Maybe a workaholic boss. Gotta think hard about that one!

I'll wind this up by saying thanks to all the folks on here who have posted about going back to work. Your stories and strength have made it easier for me to make the mental leap to working full-time again. I had been fearing it but have been feeling so good physically and emotionally since surgery that I am feeling the itch to get back out and do something productive for my family.

Also, thanks to everyone who thought good thoughts for me before my interview on Friday. I can't name a
theology I believe in, but I think prayer and visualization work!

Hugs and happy healing to you all!

Re: Going back to work soon (7 wks)

Good luck to you! I hope that this is something that works out for you!
I'm struggling with the thought of returning to any job; I've been a sub or a fill in for a long time and have no real marketable skills. It would require my going back to school but for what? I have no idea! It's good that you found something that fits for you. I send good interview vibes your way!
