headache & night sweats
surgery 12/7, ive had a headache the past 2-3 days, off pain meds since saturday, on ibuprofen and xtra strength tylenol every 6 hours, its like i sweat all night and wake up at nite at least once drenched with sweat. I sleep a max. of 3 hrs. total before i wake up and have to pee, i do fall back to sleep thank goodness. Should i try something else besides tylenol & ibuprofen? Why the night sweating?

I'm sorry you're not feeling well. Headaches and night sweats can be signs of low estrogen. I hope you feel better soon.

Re: headache & night sweats
I had the night sweats as well for a few weeks (along with getting up to pee) . It does gradually get better. THe doc said it was from surgery and the body healing. Aleve seemed to work the best for me.
Keep your head up. It gets better

Re: headache & night sweats
Aleve also worked for me. If you didn't have your ovaries removed they may not have woken back up yet. I had mine removed and didn't do HRT so I had to find something else down the road to keep the nightsweats and hot flashes in check.
Wishing you a speedy recovery.

Re: headache & night sweats
I did keep my ovaries and I'm having some horrible night sweats! I mean, I wake up completely drenched. It keeps my up at night and wow, is it uncomfortable!
I haven't really tried anything for it and it's odd because I'm cold along with night sweats. Can't figure it out!

I kept my ovaries too, surgery was 12/7, any idea how long night sweats may last? I think i need to invent some sweat wicking pjammmies, any thoughts?

Re: headache & night sweats
Surgery 11 Oct - I kept everything except my uterus and I have this problem too! Sometimes i'm drenched and a few minutes later, i'm cold. Off and on all dang night! I set the furnace to 71 - no higher. I also have the comforter handy just in case. I'm taking my vitamins - is this an issue to ask the Dr about too?

Re: headache & night sweats
I do plan on mentioning it to my doctor but do not really want to go on any medication.
I saw the coolest thing in a catalog which was like a bed fan, it cools off the sheets for those who suffer from hot flashes! I thought it was brilliant.
I would love the idea of sweat-free pajamas! I'm totally at a loss.

Re: headache & night sweats
solved the headache issue for now, took 2 tylenol 4 hrs. apart instead of 6 hrs., called doc. also 4 ideas, nurse said going off the pain meds too quick can cause a med withdrawl headache, hmmmm. My mom got me some new pjammies 2day cuz apparently i will need 2 pairs a nite for now
