Confused bout my surgical report.

When I had my D&C and Hysterscopy done last October my Dr told me I had a fibroid. My symptoms were prolonged painful & heavy peroids. I waited till July to have the hysterectomy and now I have a copy of my surgical report and it says nothing about a fibroid.
It reads " Leiomyomata & Benign Endometril Polyp"
Anybody ever heard of either of these 2 things?
Is it similar to a fibroid?

Leiomyomata is another word meaning fibroids.

Thanks Catherine!! I was just searching the internet and saw the same thing! I've just never heard a it referred to by that name.

You know doctors... they can't call something by the simple name.

I know. I asked my dr. if he saw endometriosis he said no but he tells me I have adenomyosis. I didn't know until yesterday 4 days post op that adenomyosis is endometriosis of the uterus. Stupid me.
