I'm Terrified

Pre op is May 23rd and surgery is June 3rd. I am having my last ovary removed due to it being enlarged and having a complex cyst. I am also having adhesion removal. My bowel is pulled up beside my stomach and my ovary is attached to the side wall encased in scar tissue. They are also removing my appendix.

I've known about the surgery for a few weeks now. But today I'm just falling apart. I've been crying all day. I have had so many surgeries and this one scares me the most. I'm scared they will knick the bowel or bladder, I'm scared of the pathology report, and I'm scared what menapause will do to me emotionally and physically.

Last night I tried to be intimate with my husband and the pain was horrible. I had to stop and I felt like he was upset about it. I'm 31 but feel much older.

I just needed to vent and this is the only place I feel that I can speak openly.

I understand a little bit about how you feel. I have preop on May 21 with surgery on June 6. Although this will be my 5th surgery and my 3rd in a year, this one is really getting to me. I guess it is because of the unknown. With my previous surgeries, I knew exactly what they were going in for and what they were taking. This time, I only know they intend to take down adhesions and remove endometriosis, but the rest is all up to what they find and what they can potentially save.

You are very young to have to be dealing with all of this, and I'm sorry that you are facing another surgery of such proportions. It is pretty scary to think about what could happen and what it all means for the future. I wish I had the right words to say to you that would make it all seem better and help you get through it.
