hysterectomy necessary if no pain

Hi everyone, Having a hard time coming to terms with the necessity of surgury because I'm not in much pain or discomfort. I have mild backaches and mild discomfort in my stomach but that's pretty regular.
In Jan. had a D&C and laproscopy. I have endo on my ovaries, cysts and polps. Doc also thinks I have aetnomyosis. Uterus wall is swollen twice the size of normal. This was found with a scope picture. !4 days till surgury and so nervous about the upheaval it will cause in my life. I'm vey nervous about hormone pills
and how they may affect me. I have 0 sex drive...I'm hoping I will improve in this area, maybe the hormones will help me get my levels normal. I will be on lupron and bioidentical hormone. I don't have much help so this is probably compounding my fears. I have a 6 and 7 year old. Any advice would be welcomed! Thanks for letting me vent! Bondi

You just have to take it easy for about 6 weeks. In my situation, the hormones work fine. I am on the Climara patch, I don't know about your homones though.

The endo can spread, so that is why it is important to get it out.

It is normal to be stressed before surgery, good luck with it all.

hysterectomy necessary if no pain

Hi, I had no pain ( no problems that I was even aware of ) when I learned of my need for a hyst over 3 years ago. My dr discovered cervical polyps during my yearly exam. When I had a polypectomy, D&C and hysteroscopy dysplasia, hyperplasia and precancerous uterine tumors were found. A hyst was scheduled pretty quickly.

I found that buying or cooking & freezing easy to heat and eat meals helped me a lot during my rcovery. I also had on hand lots of fruit juices, pudding cups etc. Maybe you could arrange ahead of time for some of your friends or neighbors to check in with you a couple of times a day to do the "heavy " stuff or run errands.

Best wishes.

I have a question for you.. Are you on Lupron now? That can help some ladies with pain and back aches.

Are you having second thoughts about surgery? If you are research and make sure you are doing what is best for you.

good luck with your decision

Bondi ~ I can't take lupron. I've taken it in the past and I was miserable. I had alot of side effects. One thing I would suggest is research as much as you can on lupron make sure you can handle the side effects.

I'm using depo provera. Very similar. But, I've gotten my period this month which is strange for me on depo since I have taken it in the past and never had one for years.
