I'm home from the Castle :D

I'm so glad to be home. It really wasn't so bad.

Went into surg about 12:30pm Thurs, didn't get out of recovery til 4pm, no real complications just that my left ovary was attached to my bowels a little bit and my dd had to take it slow and carefully. I have a vertical up & down incision, I knew this was a possibility because of my excess "baggage" and the fact that I' ve never been pregnant, so my uterus was so tiny(even with the couple of fibroids that were in there). Any way all went well and so many of my fears were for nothing.

Sure I'm in pain, I have about 30 staples that have to come out next Friday, if it wasn't for my extra weight I don't think it would be so painful. Overall it wasn't so bad and I would do it again in a minute. Another couple of weeks I plan on feeling better than I have for a long time. I am tired and going to get some rest now, will be in touch on the post-op board.

Thanks for all your support and care through all this.

Welcome home! Hope your recovery continues to go smoothly. Take a drink at least every time you get up to go to the bathroom and rest lots in between.

Welcome home!!!

HI Swim and lots of {{gentle}} hugs for you.

Glad you are home and resting. I remember it so much! I want to tell you it has been a year for me tah/bso vertical and I too did very well. I can't emphasize though the need to get your rest even though you may begin to feel more chipper. Keep us posted when you feel up to it and let your fingers do the walking!!

ThankXXX for letting us know you are home! HERE'S TO A NICE RECOVERY FOR YOU! YES TRIPS TO THE KITCHEN FOR ICE WATER FREQUENTLY WERE HIGHLIGHTS OF MY DAY ALONG WITH MAKING IT DOWN THE HALLWAY TO THE PRINCESS THRONE!!

Sandylynne-
Make sure you get lots of rest and don't do anything more than you absolutely have to do, at least for the first 2-3 wks.
You will slowly feel better, but don't get disgusted if you still are very tired a month from now. I thought I would be back to my old self in 3 wks. It took more like 3 months (at least at that point I could get through the day without a nap). I am 6 months post op and finally started feeling like my old self (100%) again.
Welcome home!

Sandy - If you can do it, I suppose the rest of ladies in waiting can do it too. Good luck on your recovery! We wish you well!
-Judi
P.S. Listen to all our princesses and do what they say - rest, drink, walk. (I'll try to remember that too.)
