Rash on arms

TAH, BSO, TOT and cysto--I will be 3 weeks post op tomorrow and I am feeling great. I get to work 2 days a week for 2 hours a day (I know that doesn't sound like alot but I am bored to death). I am not on any meds including hormone replacements, and I have developed a rash on my arms that is itchy. It comes and goes. When I was at DR's on Monday for check up it appeared while I was in the waiting room. He said to put some hydrocordizone (sp?) on it. It dissappeared but now it comes and goes. Doesn't appear to be anywhere except on arms. As anyone else have this happen?

Re: Rash on arms

I get it on my legs. But, mine is more heat related. I think it is a heat rash that comes and goes.

Perhaps you are brusing up against something and it is irritating your skin?

Just a few thoughts.

Re: Rash on arms

I have been having hives on my left arm and chest for over a year now that have been driving me insane. I stratch them so hard in my sleep that they bleed. I was told it's stress related.

Re: Rash on arms

I did this a few weeks after my surgery also. I was out in the sun for about an hour then got a rash on both arms, even my hands. The doctor I work with said it was probably from meds that they gave me in hospital still in my system and being in the sun triggered the rash.

Re: Rash on arms

NSAIDs - meds like motrin, aleve, mobic and toradol are known to cause sun sensitivity. I'm one of the lucky ones this happens to. The effect can stick around for weeks after you've finished taking them.
