Doing too much? Or not enough?

Hello sisters,
I am 16 days post op. I feel pretty good now. Abdo pain is constant but manageable. I am still quite tired but getting more sleep than previously.
What I am wondering is - when they said no lifting a full kettle, no bending etc. How long is that for? I help with dinner - chopping etc and am tidying kitchen a bit. I can walk around house ok inc. stairs. I do occasionally get pains then stop immediately. And sometimes I feel like I have stretched my scar a little and stop then to. What were you guys doing 2-3 weeks on? Really don't want to overdo it but need to do something too!!! Thanks

Re: Doing too much? Or not enough?

Hello
I was doing lots of walking, could sit at the table for a short while. I did things that were at waist height, so no bending or stretching. No lifting anything more than a couple of pints of fluid. No twisting either.
I'm at week 6 and have just started to do a little more but still not lifting/vacuuming/stretching.
I don't think you can go wrong with the walking and stairs, but just don't get over tired.

Hope that helps!

Re: Doing too much? Or not enough?

The hysterectomy checkpoints were a great resource for me to know what to do on a weekly basis. It was pretty invaluable to me to listen to sisters who had the surgery and couple that with my dr's instructions. The checkpoint for recovery weeks 3 - 4 is located here - Checkpoints wks 3 - 4. Hope that helps sisters!!
