Hi Sisters,
Just wanted to thank you all so much for the email cards of support before my surgery Jan 5. It meant so much to know you all were praying. I can honestly say I felt the presence of prayer while waiting at the hospital. Didn't even take valium or anything prior to surgery. The only time I freaked was when they wheeled me into the operating room and it was very cold and I gave in to my nerves and started shaking. They put warm blankets over me and it wasn't a minute later I was out.
Just a word of advice for all the LIW....if you get motion sickeness easily, be sure to tell your anestheologist that you want the patch behind your ear. I told my guy how sick I get even from watching tv programs with lots of movement and all he gave me a pill for nausea.
But never in my wildest dreams did I think I would react to the general like I did. I could not even open my eyes on Mon after surgery because the room was spinning horribly. Spent the whole day with my eyes shut and the whole evening
That evening the nurses said...the "A" guy wants you sitting on the side of your bed dangling your feet tonight....and I said, I don't think so. The "A" guy came the next day and said if I ever have a general again to do the patch thing for nausea. He said I just had a severe reaction to the general. I wanted to hit him and say why didn't you give me the patch anyway?
Guess we all learn, huh? At any rate, I came home on Wed, am felling better but still have to self-cath. Some day soon, maybe I can pee on my own...woohoo....that will be a great day.
Thanks again for all your kind words, prayers and help. You're the greatest.
