This morning I had my supracervical hysterectomy. Everything went just as planned except I was a bit dehydrated to there was a hard time starting an IV on me...
Because the doc. had a procedure right after mine I was not able to talk to him and will see him in a week. He did tell my hubby that he found endometriosis and removed it I asked him to look in specific areas for this but do not know, at this point, if that is where he found it. I also found out that I had Adenomyosis.
I am 9 hours post-op and am feeling only a bit sore as long as I do not lapse on my pain meds. If I lapse I hurt very bad and would compare it to my 2 c-sections
Because of the great care at the hospital, I have not have not thrown up (which I tend to do). They took every precaution to make sure that this would not happen and even gave me an extra dose of Phenagran in my IV before I headed home. The only time I felt nauseated was when I started getting up to go to the bathroom.
My mouth is VERY dry and I can tell that I am still very dehydrated even thought I have taken in plenty of fluids and have eaten a small bowl of soup.
I have been dozing off and on and have a bit of shoulder pain from the gas. Hubby did buy me some stool softners and that has helped as I am not having pain with my bowel movements.
The doc. gave me 3 prescriptions to take home; Lortab, 800 MG Ibuprophin and an anitbiotic.
Seeing that I have 3 kiddos under the age of 12 at home I am extremly glad that I got the house in order before surgery. I made and frooze a weeks worth of meals, including homemade granola and pancakes. I washed and put away all of the laundry and deep cleaned the house. I scheduled all of the bills to be paid and had hubby pull cash out of the bank so that I don't have to worry about the check book. Now all hubby has to do is tend on me
