Anyone else lost their mind?

Just the past few days I have been out of sorts. My brain seems to fall asleep. I have had bouts of, well, not depression but rather wanting not to talk to anybody. Some irritability. I don't know if it's the menopause stuff or if it's just a summer thing. I don't know what it is. I have perked up since this morning. Perhaps I just need some time alone. I have 4 kids and a hubby that works late into the night. Anyone else have these "brain farts"? How do you remedy them. Will my failing memory continue to fail or can it be reversed. I cannot remember things. Swiss cheese for a brain. What's up with this?

I've got the "fogginess" also. I cannot concentrate on anything for more than a few minutes. TV and computer are fine but I can't read for long - not even the daily newspaper. You are definitely not alone.

Anyone else lost their mind?

Hi Ramona,

We can all certainly have times when we are irritable and for lots of reasons, but if this persists and seems to be happening on a regular basis I would suspect you have some hormonal imbalance going on. Are you taking anything now?
I experienced this too.( Still do some) I kept my ovaries and was doing just fine for a while, but began having the same kinds of things you are now. I am much older than you and knew to watch for the symptoms of 'the change' so it was pretty easy for me to decide what it was. Your irritability and memory problems could also be caused by your hormomes.
If it continues, call your dr and see he/she can help you with something or adjust what you have.

's, Rita

Anyone else lost their mind?

preciouspearl,

I am taking Estroven and have been on it for about 5 weeks. I am also taking a multi vitamin and a calcium chew each day. Doc doesn't want me on any hormones yet. These problems are rather fresh for me, only beginning this week. However, I am unsure if it will get worse.

My hot flashes are my main problem with the surgical menopause. I thought I was doing great. They are a booger to deal with but I am dealing. The Estroven doesn't seem to be doing much good, but I need to be on it for another few weeks to know if I have a chance with it or not.

I am 3 months out of surgery. Just not sure how many new things I will get with the menopause. I thought the worst was over. I have been getting tremendous headaches as well. Perhaps my body has finally realized there aren't any hormones bouncin' around in there and is acting accordingly.

All will be well...eventually.
