bleeding, granulation and silver nitrate?

I am 8+ wks out from my TAH. I did have a c-sec/TAH due to placenta problems and had internal bleeding that put me in critical care after the surgery. I saw my Dr last wk and I was told there was some granulation and they used silver nitrate. The bleeding did slow down a little, still too much for a pantyliner though, but is still bright red. Also, ever since my exam my tummy has been swollen. My question is should there still be red blood after the silver nitrate is used? Should I even expect to still be bleeding this much? The Dr said I would see brownish stuff for a few days and did mention I still had stiches and I needed to wait to resume many of my normal activities. This is getting so frustrating! I'm just wondeing how many other ladies are taking this long to heal and if this sounds normal, it seems like evryone else is ready to get back to thier lives at 6 wks.

Just to be safe, I would call your doctor and let him know how you are feeling. Better to do that and nothing be wrong than to put it off and end up worse.

Please do not fret that you are not where "everyone else" seems to be at this point. Every body heals differently. There are a lot of us who feel the same as you do. I don't work outside the home but if I did I was no where near ready to go back to work at 6 or even 8 weeks. I have been a slow healer but I feel wonderful now. Better than I have in years. I just came back from walking a mile and a third. I could barely make it half a mile a year ago before my hyst. I know it's frustrating but you WILL get better.
