New problems 4 mo post op
I have had two uti since my surgery 4 mo ago. I also am experiencing pain during bowel movements and it feels like I am gonna lose my insides when I urinate. Sex is also very painful. My doctor doesn't seem concerned but this is starting to affect my daily activities. My lower back is always in extreme pain to were I have to take a heating pad and pillow everywhere I go. Does anyone have any clue on what is going on with me

Holli! and I hope you find plenty of support here on HS.
I don't know which doc doesn't seem worried, but I'm concerned for you! Have you had a full-fledged urological work-up? Or consulted with a urogynecologist? That seems a good place to start for your constellation of symptoms. You might also look at the Pelvic Floor and Bladder Forum here on the site.
One thing I can also suggest: journaling can be helpful. I've had many talks with many urologists over the years about my own symptoms: sometimes, keeping track of what we're eating and drinking and doing can help complete the picture.
Please keep us posted about how you're doing and, till next time, sending plenty of

Re: New problems 4 mo post op
I just had my first post-op checkup on Fri. and it was exactly 4 months since my surgery. My doctor said it looks like every thing is healed (the cuff) but I still have discomfort, deep inside from rectum to pubic bone area. He gave me a name of of uro-gyno and asked me to make an appointment so this doctor can check to make sure everything is where it should be or if I just need more time to continue healing. I keep thinking I should be over this discomfort everytime I lift things, have a bm, or feel bladder pressure. But I guess not. I don't want to go to another doctor for ANYTHING, but if I know that nothing is falling out of place (bladder, etc.) then I guess I will be able to relax and just GIVE IT MORE TIME.
So, maybe you need to have things checked inside to make sure you are not having weakness in the pelvic floor. Anyway, it is just a suggestion based on what I was told about my 4 month post-op discomfort.
Good luck and let me know how you are doing.
