Boric acid or hydrogen peroxide for yeast infection??

Has anyone ever used Boric acid for yeast? How do you use it and get it inside your vagina? How about good old hydrogen peroxide? I was just wondering about them. I seem to have the reoccurring burning and itching but no discharge. I think I am immune to some of the other methods.cI am sure tired of it.

Boric acid or hydrogen peroxide for yeast infection??

I have a friend that uses some sort of boric acid but it is something that she gets from her doc. She has had CHRONIC yeast problems for the last 2 years. I dont know exactly how it is used either.
I think that I would be inclined to call the doc. They are usually really good about calling something into a pharmacy.
Before using boric acid I would be researching that alot more. I know that it changes the Ph inside your vagina and that is what kills the yeast and helps recreate a proper balance. I think it is that it makes it more alkaline. I am by no means an expert regarding this so please be careful!

Boric acid or hydrogen peroxide for yeast infection??

I have been on the diflucan for 1 week at a time and it didn't cure it. The they switched to Griflucan and I am still taking it, it has been almost a month. The itching returned 2 days ago. I would never use the boric acid without talking to the doctor....I just wanted to see if anyone has tried it. I read some alternatives for medication online and these were listed. I may be having an allergic reaction to something, but only use the Premarin creme every other day and the Replens for moisture. Doctor said neither of those should bother me. Of course when I went in there the last time for my estrogen shot, I was symptom free....and them wham.....it comes back the next week. I have been to the doctor WAY TOO MUCH...but I keep going back

Boric acid or hydrogen peroxide for yeast infection??

I have heard of Boric Acid being used, I was prescribed it for recurring bacterial vaginosis, it worked wonders:-) I hear it does the same for yeast infections. they put it into little capsules & you use them like a suppository. Hydrogen peroxide I have never heard of being used. Good luck to ya girl

This may sound weird

Okay, sisters....here goes: When I was younger and on the pill, doses were really high and I used to get chronic yeast infections. I had this wonnnnnnderful nurse practitioner = who preferred a more wholistic and natural approach rather than always trying to medicate me. I'm pretty sure at the time the only options were those 7 days of messy cream or suppositories yuck! (no Difulcan or anything like that). Besides recommending that I take acidophilus regularly (started taking that before surgery, by the way, because of all of the antibiotics) she had me give myself...get this....yogurt douches! (plain yogurt and turkey baster...hehehehe) I know that douching may not be recommended since we are hystersisters, but for future reference, it actually helped and acted preventatively. :woot: It was messy, etc., but so were the treatments back then...and it was a more natural way to go.

I am a card member of yeast infections, or i was until i started taking the acidophilus, you can now drink it in yummy dannon things it's a VERY small yogurt drink not horrible either. And you can use the plain yogurt as spottedowl stated. It sounds crazy but really works. Just remember when in doubt call the doc!
hope it helps.
