Bladder Pain after Surgery

Hi, I'm Debbie and I had my surgery last Thursday 6th of December. Surgery went really well and I came home from Hospital on Sunday. One thing that I'm finding is my bladder gets very full quickly and needs to be emptied at least every hour and it's very painful when full. Can anyone let me know how long this goes will last for before the swelling settles down and makes it a little easier.

Re: Bladder Pain after Surgery

Have you talk to your doctor's office? You might need to get a urine sample to rule out urinary tract infection. Sometimes it takes a while for that area to heal after it had been attached to the catheter during the surgery.

Jackie, Thank you very much. I will do that. The hospital took a urine sample on the day I left but I wouldn't imagine they would test for a urinary tract infection.
