What may I take for pain?

Hello Sisters,

I am about 2 weeks pre-op and I have been reading all kinds of wonderful posts...(thank you sisters). I feel very informed and ready to take this Hyst on!

I do have a question though...
I have read many posts on what not to take 2 weeks pre-op, but I was wanting to know, what MAY I take for my Endo pain this close to surgery...

Any information would be great!

Thank you all for such great posts~

What may I take for pain?

This is one of the areas where we really must defer to your doctor. They will probably allow you Tylenol. If that's not sufficient, they may prescribe narcotics to replace the so-precious ibuprofen, Naproxen, or Vioxx you've probably been using in the past.

But call your doctor to be sure!

What may I take for pain?

Hi Tonya!
Glad you found info here! I can only say what my DD recommended to me-He said Absolutely no NSAIDS-like Ibuprofen. Motrin Advil, Alieve etc.,.... and NO aspirin products. Just tylenol.
So because it wasn't working, I had to call him and he put me on Darvocet. It is marvelous! Mild, but works!'I have endo too and the pain is ROTTEN!
So sorry you have it!
Good luck on your surgery and keep us posted! If you are concerned about a certain product--ask your doc! He has your records and knows what is best!
Love and prayers....Peanut

What may I take for pain?

Thank you for your advice... I will take the tylenol tonight and call the DD tomorrow...

I was on the phone with DD so much today due to some insurance mix up... I have been waiting 3 weeks for a pre-approval for the Hyst. and I just found out today that the request was never sent in to the insurance Co. :'(

But with all of that on my mind I was in a and forgot to even ask about what meds I was able to take~

My pre-op in not unitil next week!

Anyway, enough ... Thanks for your time!
