Sitting in Pre-op waiting room
Waiting to go through the paces. My sweet husband is sitting next to me. He is such a comfort to me. I have my printed list of Pre op questions plus some of my own. The staff at this hospital are so kind and helpful. See you on the flip side of this meeting.

Re: Sitting in Pre-op waiting room
Thank you so much my sisters for the support. I am finding that not only do I need to know the mechanics of this whole process but also to know that I am not alone in this journey. It is a journey, right ? I started so afraid, then second guessing my decision to stop the madness. Now armed with information and knowing that I have "sisters-in-the-club", that's what my pre-op nurse said today. She had a TAH 2 years ago. Her "unofficial" comment was that she wished she would have researched information concerning pre-op preparation for post-op bowel movements. That's my next search of information..
Let me just say that today was a positive step forward. I felt so empowered talking to my pre-op nurse with my printed list of questions in front of me. The list came from Article: Questions for your Pre-Op Hysterectomy Appointment in the Pre-Op Forum. Not all questions were appropriate for my personal situation but 90% were exactly what I needed to know. The nurse couldn't answer all of them and deferred to my doctor, which made sense. I received a printed form to list my doctor related questions. Again, I felt empowered as my own "patient advocate" in this medical process. I thank HysterSisters and you for helping me manage the madness.
Now seven days to reach the castle.

Re: Sitting in Pre-op waiting room
Wishing all of you a speedy and quick recovery.
I honestly think this site was one of the reasons my recovery was so easy. I was so prepared that I had everything ready for my big day. I would never have thought of the things I would need after surgery if not for the help here.
I'm almost 10 months post op now and feeling so so much better. Life is great without pain.
Please keep everyone posted on recovery.
