Silly question about vaginal cuff

Ok, so I am realizing how ridiculously little research I did before my procedure! My female surgeon came so highly recommended I just trusted what she said I should do including removing my cervix so I would no longer need paps and since there is no real difference sexually. SO, my question is this...I have read a few times about people having vaginal cuffs and didn't think I was one of them until I just read a post and realized I MUST since my cervix was removed...can someone clarify what this all means?

I think that if you had your cervix removed, you have a cervical cuff. I had mine removed to and I have one. I can't tell the difference and neither can my BF.

My GYN said that you still need a pap either every 2 or 5 years depending on whether or not you have a history of abnormal paps. I have that history so I have to have a pap every two years still.

Thank you! I am confused! I am actually starting to wonder if I should have left my cervix...you know that second guessing stuff...probably hormonal

I had my cervix removed, too, and asked my doctor to explain the vaginal cuff. He said it's where they remove the cervix and then stitch the area shut. I haven't noticed any difference at all.

I read the article and I understand it beteer. It all seems a little surreal to me...and I am very comfortable with my body. I just can't believe I never even thought about what it would be like...must be the hormonal thing making me whacky!
