Has anyone had Aunt Flo visit going into surgery?

Aunt Flo paid me a visit for the last time two nights ago. Boy did she bring all her messy baggage..cramps, bloating, clots and constant heavy flow. Has this happened to anyone else the week of surgery? My hyst is scheduled for tomorrow morning. The nurse said this wouldn't present a problem and the doctor will continue with the hyst regardless.

To be honest I'm a bit embarrassed by the whole thing. Now I can't go in clean as a whistle and smelling like soft soap <g> Now the doctor and his attendants have to see the float gates of my monthly up close and personal. YUCK!!!

Aw, try not to worry about it - I'm sure that they've seen it all many times before
Also, by that time, you should be asleep

Best wishes.

Has anyone had Aunt Flo visit going into surgery?

The old hag showed up the morning of my surgery. When I told my OR nurse about it, she just patted my hand and said "Hun, it's time you showed your body who's boss". She said they see this all the time and if they had to wait for a woman to quit bleeding to do the surgery, there wouldn't be many.

Just think of it this way....you're going to leave the old hag at the hospital and won't have to deal with her again!!!!!!!!

Best wishes to you.

You ladies are AWESOME!!! I almost choked on my coffee after reading your post. I guess it's pretty silly to be worrying about what's coming out of my V-J-J when the doctor and his attendents have it pointed right in their direction.

Okay...now I breath a little easier and know The Old Hag will soon be gone for good!!!

Has anyone had Aunt Flo visit going into surgery?

Aunt Flo showed up 15 hours before my surgery. It was the final insult, but I had the last laugh!! Seems that last one is usually a humdinger too! It was the first time I had a crying spell on DH's shoulder over this whole mess. I told him I just wanted to be able to have one small thread of dignity remain and that was taken away. When I got to the hospital they gave me a truly sexy pair of gauze fishnet panties. A real fashion statement I must say, but they served there purpose. The best part was coming out of surgery, feeling immediately better, NO CRAMPS, and knowing I had kicked old AF to the curb, permanently! Best wishes to you tomorrow.

Has anyone had Aunt Flo visit going into surgery?

AF visited Oct. 15 and never went away until surgery. Suergery center nurses gave me those wonderful fishnet panties and a pad, patted my arm and said no problem. When they wheeled me to OR and had me stand to get on the table I said, "oops, I still have those panties on." The nurses said that's fine, don't worry a thing about it. They never said anything about them and didn't remove them until I was well asleep. After surgery, I have not had any bleeding, whatsoever!

You hang in there and good luck tomorrow!

yes my Aunt Flo came in one last time with all her fear and fury the week of my hyst. I actually stopped bleeding about 2 days before though. Good luck to you and I wish you a speedy recovery.

I went into OR twice while bleeding (for my lap, hysteroscopy, and D&C and then for my hyst). Both times the staff, at two different locations, was super nice and considerate about everything!

Many best wishes to you!
