pain in lower right back

Hi there--
I'm three weeks out and have developed a dull pain in the lower right part of my back. Has anyone else felt something similar? FYI, during my surgery, the dr said that my ovaries were covered with endo, especially my right ovary, which was "plastered" to the pelvic wall with tissue. Ewwww. Any ideas, ladies? Thanks!

pain in lower right back

Well, a number of ladies, including myself have developed sciatica. Lower back pain is a major symptom, but often there is pain down the back of the leg as well. Nerve pain, you know? It's also possible that you just strained a muscle with all the post-contortions one goes through. Try ice or heat, or a hot bath, maybe even professional massage. If you think it might be non-muscular, call your doc! Good luck!

Im sorry I dont have any answers for you, but just wanted to say that I am sorry you are feeling bad. I have been battling a hip problem since my surgery on July 13th so I know how it feels. Good luck finding answers.

pain in lower right back

Hi. I had TAH/BSO on 7/27 and today is my two week post-op . The past two nights I have gone to bed with pain in my back on right side--....almost where you'd think your kidneys are. I am not sure if it is normal either. I have been fearing it may be a kidney or bladder infection. No other symptoms though.
--I think I am going to call my Dr., -you may want to make a phone call too. Better to be safe than sorry!

pain in lower right back

I had my LAVH the same day as yours..and I also have the same back pain, my lower right side only. It bothered me so badly that is was controlling my days. Only after popping pain pills and sitting down did it subside. I decided to give my doctor a call and see what he said. I have been going to massage therapy and it seems to be working well. She said I injured or strained a muscle in my lower right back, probably during surgery. Since going for massage it feels a bit better. She also informed that it is a small muscle but is difficult to heal. A common injury for people that have surgery that is very long. I wish I could remember the name of the muscle.....I just hope it goes away before my time to go back to work comes around....can't work like this....

I am 3 weeks post op and about a week after TAH, I developed a pain area in my lower back more right side than left that feels very similar to the pain I had from the endo before the surgery . I am so distressed and going to call the dr. again today. RLB, my situation was much the same as yours from the sounds of it and I had the same reaction eewwww!!! I have 1 pain pill left and OTC drugs don't help much.here's to an end to this for both of us.

pain in lower right back

I started having this pain early on also. Somewhere in here is a post about this and it made sense. Your abdominal muscles have been used/abused/cut etc. While recovering the hunched over careful walk is using more back muscles since the ab ones aren't working. Does this make sense? I used an ice pack for a while and the pain went away.
