3 Weeks And Counting
Hello Ladies
Well I'm 3 weeks 4 days post op and I'm actually doing pretty good. I went to the dr today and he said my incision is healing very nicely. He still didnt want me to drive but after alot of begging he said okay but no traveling. I still cant have sex which I kinda figured that before I even went to the Dr. I was telling him that every now and again I get some gas pain and I still get a little pain when I pee and he gave me meds for the pain. And took a sample to see if I had a UTI. Hopefully not but he didnt want to put me on meds until he got the results.
I do hope that all the other 3 and 4 weekers are doing okay. Other then the slight gas and bladder pain I'm doing good. I havent had any bleeding and I even lost 11 pds. So I'm very happy .

3 Weeks And Counting
3 weeks post op (TAH) and I wish I could say I'm doing well. I'm getting approx. 2 hours of sleep a night. Between going to the bathroom and just overall insomnia, I'm a walking zombie during the day and I can't nap in the afternoon. The incision is healing nicely, but of course I still have stomach pain and Swelly Belly. My biggest problem is constipation. I've tried stool softeners, prunes, prune juice, bran cereal and Miralax. Nothing is budging me. When I do have an urge, I sit on the toilet, squeeze but nothing will come out. I'm squeezing so hard that I'm afraid I'm doing some kind of damage. I'm going to the Dr tomorrow and hopefully he'll have an answer for me. You can only imagine how yucky I feel. Tonight, I'm trying the tea, Smooth Move. Wish me luck.
I wish all my new Sisters well .

slowrecovery.... my doc said that it could be that your bowel is still partially asleep. You may want to look into that as well.

Girls, thanks so much for your kind words. Coming to this site everyday gives me such hope and inspiration. I know that each day will get better, although now is seems hopeless.
If I can't sleep, at least my bowels can LOL.

I also passed my 3 week mark, and have been doing pretty much everything. Even working 1/2 days. Had the same constipation problem, crying with every attempt. Finally increased colace to 300/day - 2 at night. Cold beverage followed by Hot Coffee or Tea in morning and it finally improved. Check dosage with MD first. The forcing can cause damage, and even rectal bleeding.

3 Weeks And Counting
Hello ladies,
This Wendesday will be four weeks for me. I had a tvh and am doing quite well. I went back to work (both jobs) at two weeks. I wish I had waited at least another week but I made it through. Most of my aches and pains are gone now unless I really overdo it, which is easy since I feel so much better. The worst thing is total exhaustion by 5:00 p.m.. I am not used to stopping that early and had usally kept going until at least 1am. I get a little aggrevated with being tired early then I remember what our bodies just went through and am using it as an excuse to stop what I am doing and sit down to rest. I know the time is coming to an end where my dh and two boys will let me get away with it.
I hope everyone has a good recovery and remember to pamper your self!!!!
