Cramping??

I am 8 days post op. Yesterday I started to feel crampy like the start of my period. I can't understand how this is possible without my uterus. I have taken pain meds at night to sleep.

Has anyone experienced this?

Thanks

Stacy

Re: Cramping??

Have you been doing too much? I found when I over did it, even by walking too long I got cramps. Mine have passed now.

Re: Cramping??

I probably have done too much! I am so bored of feeling helpless. I have the clean laundry brought to me to fold & I tried to push a grocery cart on Tues night. Thank goodness for pain mess.

CoachSB, folding the laundry is great. Pushing the cart is over the weight restriction and is definitely pushing and may have caused your cramping. Be careful sister. It's delicate in there.....no pushing, pulling or lifting sister.

Re: Cramping??

Yes, that happened to me 7 days after my surgery, but I've also been driving, shopping, and sitting at a desk all day, so. However, before my surgery, my doc did tell me that since I'll keep my ovaries, I may have spotting and that some women have said that they do spot around the time that they normally have their periods.

Re: Cramping??

Thank you for your guidance. I didn't have great guidelines on what not to do.

I will be more gentle to my body!

Thanks

Re: Cramping??

I still get cramps every month. I can tell when I am ovulating. The cramps aren't horrible, but sometimes they are bad enough I still have to take an Aleve. Did you keep your ovaries?? If you did you will still get PMS, cramps, etc..

Re: Cramping??

I'm 7 weeks out from LSH and still get that to a degree. If I do too much or am on my feet for too long I get sort of a crampy feeling. Not sure if it's the same as what you're talking about, though, as mine kind of feels like crampy muscles all over my abdomen. Nothing severe, doesn't even require ibuprofen, just annoying. I've been cleared to pretty much do what I want as long as I'm careful but find that I still have to be cautious to not do anything too strenuous.

Re: Cramping??

The cramping has gotten better when I took it easy. So I guess it was my body's way of telling me to slow down even more.

Tonight I made a very difficult decision not to attend the playoff football game at our high school. I went to the store with my husband this morning which totally exhausted me. He suggested we stay home from the game due to the cold temperatures. It was so hard to stay here & turbo game was just down the street.

I hope it gets easier next week!!!
