Feeling too good = getting ignored

geoD-
good for you! I think that sometimes us ladies like to "spare" the feelings of others, or we don't want to appear to be complainers. I have learned that it is NOT complaining when someone asks how you are doing, and you give them an honest answer. Albeit we do not have to elaborate unless we are asked to do so (i have some friends who go on and on and on when you ask them how they are) but at the same time, if we are not "feeling fine" we should not say we are. It is A-OK to say "Not so well today, but thank you for asking" or "I am getting better, but still not up to speed" and those are honest, NON-complaining answers! Perhaps also your co-workers are not used to seeing you in a temporary debilitated manner, and are not quite sure what to do or say. I am going to take some of my own advice as well. Mine TAH could not have waited either, but it my situation it would not have mattered when it was done. You have you and your health to be concerned about, not what is a convinience to everyone else. That having been said, good luck to you and I would love to know how work goes tomorrow.

Feeling too good = getting ignored

I felt the same way up to a week after surgery. All I have to say is don't push it because it does catch up with you! At 3 weeks I felt worse than I did when I came home. Also, if you're not getting the help you need... ask for it!

so glad to hear it is not just my family! Friends and neighbors have been great bringing food, etc. family however have not. Like some of you, my dh went to work right away, only day he took off was day of surgery. Would have been nice to have him @ a bit when I got home. Had TVH 1/17 and feeling pretty good, afraid to do too much and lonely with nobody here to talk to. Glad I found this site, you guys are great to "listen" to and to vent to also.
