Home in four!

Hi ladies,

I have to agree with all the advice I had before I went to the castle - ANTICIPATION IS THE HARDEST!

My surgery could not have gone better! I had a a TAH BSO on Thurs. morning, mophine pump out by Friday morning, walked and walked and walked !!! The gas pains were the worst, so keep walking and tell your caregivers how you are feeling.Home yesterday by noon.

I am feeling great today. I have to keep telling my self to slow down, don't lift - my body tells me in a hurry if my mind forgets!

I ended up having 12 fibroids - all benign. The normal uterus weighs about 70-100 grams, mine was 645 grams - I feel less pressure now even with the incision .

So to those of you in waiting, keep the faith and good luck.
Gail

Good for you!!!

Those of us with smooth recovery stories need to keep spreading the word to help calm fears! I'm going back to work on Wednesday which is 3 weeks after surgery. I have a desk job and will get up frequently because like you said, walking is important!!

Glad to hear you are doing so well. It makes the time off work all that more enjoyable!

Best wishes -
Lisa

Hey Teach 77[Gayle],
Welcome Home , I am glad to hear you are doing Ok. It's amazing how good you can feel in such a short time especially if you were dragging prolapses or fibroids around. It will be a matter of time before you feel really good, but just surviviing the fear of anticipation and the hospital experience is a good thing especially if there were no mishaps and your care was good.Take care of yourself and be patient. The first two weeks lay around, walk as necessary and let the folks pamper you cuz you need it.Recovery time flies fast enough as it is . It's easier to lay low right from the start than have to go back and slow down. Your body will let you know if things arn't right or if you are doing too much. Hang in there nd happy healing.Kathy
