Upper and lower abdominal bloating

When I had my yearly pap smear last August my doctor felt my fibroids and mentioned possible hysterectomy but at the time they were not causing any real problems. However now my whole stomach is bloated and I can actually feel and enlargement of what is possibly my uterus above my public bone. I'm pretty sure these fibroids have grown. My question is can you also feel the bloating in your upper abdomen? When I put my pants on, of course they feel too tight now and there's a lot of fluid at the top of my stomach over my pants when I set down. Has anyone else had this happen? Do fibroids make you retain more water in the whole abdomen?
